I’ve owned several 30-30 bolt action rifles … owned one that someone had bobbed the barrel on and refinished the stock .. it had a fixed 1.5 power scope .. was a great little carbine … that one I should have kept for sure
They are great rifles.That is a clean example you will find it shoots great .The mount holes will not be a safety concern but i would plug them for looks . I had a mint example and a friend hounded me for it ,for his son for a first deer rifle.I should have held on to it !
Just wipe it down with an old RIG rag and the holes will disappear.
I’ve got one in .222 and it’s not the most beautiful rifle (Savage hasn’t made a good looking rifle since the Model 20) but it shoots just fine. Now I kind of want the 30-30 to match it.
