Hey everyone!

While I was shopping for a .22lr I didn't find many reviews for the Savage 64f through all my searching, so I thought I'd write up a short one about my brand new one.

I purchased the rifle for about $140 at Dunaham's (i've seen them on sale for cheaper though). It came with a crappy tasco rim fire (bb gun) scope which is alright to start with.

Keep in mind this is not a feature loaded rifle at all. Savage seems to make a lot of very accurate inexpensive guns with few or no luxuries.

I purchased a box of 333 winchester rounds, and headed for the woods.

I did need to put some oil in it, they ship these things pretty dry.

With the cheap Winchester the gun preformed flawlessly for a few hours. Towards the end of the box of ammo, it started to have some feeding problems, but the inside of the gun was absolutely filthy from all of the shooting. I also attribute this to the newness of the gun. I'll be sure to update this after its been broken in.

It seemed to be very accurate. The scope is far from perfect, but it would be a great starter for a child. Using the Iron sights I was able to hit anything I wanted to at 50 yards, as long as I could see it.

The Stock is typical Savage cheap synthetic, a plus for me because its very lightweight, and it should take a beating. The action seems very durable, It is a little complicated to strip though..... requires 3 tools. I did like the little ten round mags. The seem easy to find too, usually for about $10-$12.

I love this little rifle. I felt like I was taking a risk buying it because it was so cheap, but it is a blast to shoot, and seems to be as tough as any .22 I've shot. I'm pretty excited about owning this thing, and I own much bigger guns too. The ridiculously lower price of ammo has already changed my life.

Let me know if I left something out!
