Savage Model 99 / .410

Three questions, if you have knowledge please:

What is the going rate for a .410 barrel for a Savage Lever 99, barrel only?

There seem to be two sizes, 22" & 24" - does it matter which one buys, for different models or calibers?

Is there any model (old, newer, takedown) caliber (.22HP, .250 SAV, .300 SAV, .303 SAV, 308, etc.) which will NOT accept a factory Savage .410 barrel?

Ha! Same here. Apparently the 410 barrels are tough to find. Lots of google searching hasn't brought up much detailed info though. Just wondering, if you find one, which I've yet to do, onto what 99's does it fit? Stay tuned, we can both find out.

You may want to look at the Savage Collectors board on the 24hr Campfire. You'll find an answer there for sure. I've never been a fan of the take down 1899's so can't help you.

I was under the impression that the .410 option was only used with .22 HP. I can't imagine it working with the rimless cartridges. But not sure...

I have seen a set with .303 Savage and the .410 barrel. The .410 barrel does not feed thru the magazine, you drop one in at a time
