Has anyone seen or purchased one of these kits from Kiesler's Wholesale? Price seems fair at 849.00, just looking for someone with some experience before I decide to buy. For those not familiar with the kit it comes with a 26" Heavy Barreled variation of the 110 with a compsite stock, Bore sighted Burris Scope mounted, harris bi-pod, sling, scope covers, and hard case. Caliber options include 223, 308, and 300 mag. I am torn between the 308 and 300 mag.

Many/most people that buy them report excellent accuracy. the trigger is superb too.

Just my opinion, but I think you might be happier with the .308, unless you're going to be competing in extreme long distance matches, 1000yd+ stuff.
You might shop a bit too as there are lots of deals to be had on Savage mod 10FP LE series rifles. There have been several informative threads on the subject here as well.

Good luck!:D

For general purpose work the .308 would be the more expeditious route. If somebody else is buying the ammo and you have a real need for 1000 meter shots the .300 is the ticket, especially if you might need to disrupt materials or cover.

could be a good deal and it could also be a simply OK deal....

ask the same question.

what you will most likely find out is that for the same or within a reasonable amount of the price you quoted that you can get BETTER rifle built up by fred Moreo at SharpShooter's Supply.

the kit you refer to almost sounds as if this company has contracted for a version of the savage 10FPXP-LE with a burris rather than Leupold scope.

and for the record the savage 'factory composite" stock is THE largest remaining fault in the 10/110 series. it is not stiff enough to begin with and actually "softens" with age in many cases.

again go to the savage shooters website and ask around and then contact fred at SSS and see what he says about building a comparable but slightly upgraded version of this gun.

untill you see what fred can do you don't really know whether it's worth it to get a rifle that on a mechanical level has probably NOT been tuned up to make it work better (savage builds excellent rifles, at great price points, but they could be MUCH better)
