Savage Target Action?

I purchased a Savage Target action from one of the big online dealers and got it in yesterday. Box says Target action. But, when I open it it is cut as a repeater and doesn't appear to have the target Accutrigger. Everything included is for a target action (no botom metal or magazine) I suspect this is a varmint action that has been incorrectly packaged. Am I wrong?

Assuming it came in an original factory box, does the Ser# on box match that on receiver? If not, there's you answer.

Doesn't look like a Savage Target Action to me. Or one of their target rifles. Suspect it is a 12 series.

Yes it does match serial # on factory box labeled target action. It is probably just another model I wasn't aware of. I just thought they were all single shot.

But it just doesn't seem right. The place I ordered from is taking it back in exchange for another no problem, but the customer service didn't know if the other would be different

Target actions have a red center blade on the trigger. And some 12's come with the Target action BTW. Mine did.



BTW I tried to find the source of this photo to attribute it but I couldn't. To be honest I think I posted this a long time ago on another board. That sure looks like my grill it's sitting on. I followed the link from Google and it went back to a page I posted some photos but they're gone from that page so I am not 100% it's mine but I'm 95% sure.

Your picture looks like a bog standard M12.
The Target action is a solid bottom single shot with smaller ejection port and red target accutrigger.

If customer service will not open the box and inspect for those features, request a refund and shop elsewhere.

Yep, those were all my thoughts exactly. Just don't know how that gap stuck in a box labeled target action with the righ serial number. Thank you all for the input!
