Savage10 non Scope Package

I've been looking all over for the last couple months for a place that has for sale a Savage model 10 that doesn't come with a scope. All I can find are the package deals which is not what I want. Is that all they're selling now or am I just looking in all the wrong places?

the package deals are the most common thing youll find. if you cant find the exact rifle you want without a scope package, well

guess what? buy the scope package. if you dont want that scope, take it off and trade it to someone for something.

Ditto. You really aren't paying very much for the scopes they throw in, so you won't be saving any real coin by trying to find one without. You should be able to recoupe your cost by selling / trading the scope after the fact.

I just feel like I'd be paying way more for a cheap scope than I could get out of selling it. I don't understand why they insist on selling rifles with scopes already on them. Its like they're forcing you to buy a scope if you want to buy a rifle from them. Maybe I don't want to have a scope on this rifle, Savage.

They buy the scopes in bulk and no doubt make a little on the mark up. The scope is a Nikon 3-9x40 BDC. It's actually not bad for a package. Very adequate for hunting and if nothing else would make for a nice back up.

It's probably a decent scope but it having a scope on it puts it over my budget. If it sold with no scope I could probably afford it. I will probably end up buying a used model 10 with out a scope.

You just missed the rebate. The package currently retails for $499.

Even if you found one with no scope the price would likely be the same.

Try budsgunshop. Type in Savage 10 into the search and you will find what your looking for. They also offer free shipping to your FFL. My advice is stick to your plan, buy the rifle without the scope and pick the scope/rings/base you want.

Thanks, I just got a new Nikon Buckmaster 3x9 for a pretty good price and a beat up old Leupold vx2 that I've been wanting to try out. I'm definitely not in need of any more scopes right now.
