So I did the logical thing and bought a 10.5" AR. Actually a PSA pistol lower and BCA complete upper that I slapped together.

Unlike the brace on my Black Aces Pro Mini and PSA AK-V, I don't much care for the blade brace.
Is it possible to purchase a different AR brace and replace what I have with it, or is there more science to it than that?

My current brace is adjustable with an allen wrench and I presume can be slipped off the same way.

I would like this lower to serve as the host for a future 7.5" .300 BLK, so I don't really mind spending the $90-$115 folks are asking for. Though I will shop around.

Thanks in advance!

You’ll need to swap buffer tubes also. The sba3 usually comes with the buffer tube but any milspec one will work if it doesn’t.

What he said. The Shockwave uses a completely different buffer tube. I just replaced one of mine with an SB and like it mucho better. Bonus is that it's adjustable, rather than fixed.

I shouldn't have called it a blade stabilizer since it's not a KAK, Magpul or such. I had to go on PSA's website to see exactly what my lower came with and found it's actually the following:

Mission First Tactical Battlink Pistol Stabilizer

According to their website:

• Compatible with a standard Milspec carbine receiver extension/buffer tube

• Set screw locates into the buffer tuber plunger hole

So I'm hoping I have a milspec buffer tube already installed.

Does the plan of swapping one for the other sound feasible? It's looking that way, but again... not really an AR guy. The two I have just sit in the safe chirping, not having been shown attention for months/years.

Well, I found an SBA3 for $69 with free shipping, no NC sales tax and no CC fees on GB from an "A+" seller with 300+ feedback.
I suppose if the tube doesn't work, I can repl ace that too but I'm kind of optimistic so far.

Thanks for the info!

The important thing to remember with SB Tactical is the prefix which will tell you which receiver extension you need: SBA is for carbine extensions, SBM is for pistol extensions.

If you’re wanting a quick adjust then the SBAs are ideal and if you’re a set and forget quasi-SBR then the SBMs should work great. You might also consider the 4 over the 3 as a stiffer alternative, just remember there’s no QD cup for your sling on the 4s.

This is the SBM4 (pistol extension tube) on my 10.5”). It’s a friction fit that slides on and several companies offer stop collars to set the desired length. My Phase 5 extension tube is a hybrid round/squared design that positions the brace 1/3 of the way out.

The SBA3 adjusts like a stock on a standard carbine extension.

I just did the swap you are asking about. I put the MFT blade on a mil spec tube and didn't like it on that pistol, so I pulled it and slid the sba3 off my 9mm and put it on the other pistol. Slid right on the tube. Then I pit the MFT blade on the 9mm and love it on there. Easy peasy.

Wow, that's half what I spent. Kinda wish I saw that a few days ago. I'm a little wary of that merchant's recent feedback, but that price is spectacular.

That's quite the knock-off. It even has the SB logo on the back.
There is a guy on the AK files selling them in the marketplace for $40 shipped, not sure if it is the same vendor, but seems like a great knockoff!
