I bought 1000 cases of once-fired 9mm. While reloading them I found one with an internal shoulder that would stop a bullet from being seated too deeply plus it greatly reduced the internal capacity for powder.
I separated this case from the rest and thought I might reduce a charge by 20-25% to see if was safe. On second thought I decided to ask the forum about these cases.

Anyone have knowledge of these things?

4 headstamps that I have come across with stepped cases MaxxTech, Ammoload, FM and IMT.
All of them go in the recycle bucket.
Since I sort by headstamp, I also have a bucket for 9mm that should be swaged too. This includes any Nato brass, S&B, HRTRS, USGI, RG and MKE.
The S&B and HRTRS have given me issues in the past for being tight on the primer so I give all of those in that last category to a friend with a Dillon 1050.

Yep... scrap bucket material.

Honestly, I just stick to the well known domestic stuff... WW, RP, FC, and a few non-domestic... PMC and Prvi. The rest just gets scrapped.

Light-Midrange load, unknown # of firings had one separate at the ledge.
All go into the brass recycle can now.

I paid the price for some .380 from TJ Convera. It was stepped. Man i ate that once shot! RC helped with it to gain tention but they can have 900 rounds back if they want it.
