I think it's a decent gun, but for what it does, there are smaller packages that have fewer parts. In short, they are a pain to detail disassemble and reassemble. As a department armorer, you have to have quite a parts inventory because of the numerous parts.
 
I'm sure there are many guns that are better for different things but at this point it's just for collector purposes, I have oodles of other guns that get carried and used for serious purposes so I don't see any downside to owning the Beretta.

I have not found this to be the case at all.
