Recently I got an email from thebladeshop.com on a blow-out special of Schrade SMEDY auto knives. Disposable income being close to nil these days I thought, what the heck, it's worth $15 and change for a new auto. Today the knife arrived and it seems like a decent one especially for the price. I do not know what the blade steel is but it came shaving sharp out of the box. OAL is 6" with a 2.5" blade. Good spring action and pretty tight lockup. Just a small new toy for light chores like opening boxes and such. All-in-all a pretty good deal. Here are a couple of pics.

I just picked up one of those pictured in the second photo, CA compliant, under 2" blade. Schrade calls it the "Scaly".

It actually comes with a 1.75" blade, which, to make it CT legal to carry, I'll have to lop 1/4" off to get it to 1 1/2. Mine has black anodized bolsters, black delrin scales, and a polished silver blade. Got it from BladeHQ. It's this one http://www.bladehq.com/item--Schrade-Black-Scaly-California--9819

Looks to be temp. out of stock, but they have it in other color combos.

Nice, fast action, certainly well built for the price, and can you believe it, not made in China. Well, not that China, it's made in Taiwan.

My two ( one of each ) came in yesterday, Have to say, very impressed with quality, really nice, nothing cheap about them. very solid little Knifes.I've been playing with and carrying the small " Chicago Legal ", turning out to be a very handy little knife. Both knifes are top drawer.
