Can someone advise typical torque values when mounting scope bases and rings? I have some new scopes to mount and I plan to buy a in/lb screwdriver for the job. Thanks.
Ring screws can range from 15-25. Most being around 20-23.
Base screws will range from 20ish-25.
Some crossbolt torque values will reach in to the 40's up even to about 65.
All vary depending on manufacturer. Its best to use exactly what the manufacturer recommends,. They usually are written on the package, and if not, you can find them on a search.
Side note, the Wheeler fat wrench is a great choice. Simple and works very well.
