Might look into the side focus Vx3i 4-14 x 40 on sale . I ended up putting one with mil dot on my Arm 10 .308 & 6.5 Creedmore switch barrel instead of the 2-7 Leupold VXR I initially put on it.

I’ve heard of but don’t have any experience with Athlon optics. Do you have more of their optics other than the one or is it your first? That scope does look intriguing albeit heavier and a bigger objective than I would like, but has some nice features.

That’s the only one I own. The Argos line has crazy good reviews for what they cost. That’s why I bought an Athlon. If the Midas was FFP it would be killer, that’s the Argos lines claim to fame. I haven’t had time to really run it through the paces long range shooting, but here’s what I know so far:
1. It holds zero riding in the truck in a sky rack, 10k miles probably so far. Sometimes the AR10 magazine taps on the scope and vise versa. It’s mounted in a $15 Amazon cantilever Mount so that’s impressive.

2. Returns to zero perfectly when dialed up and back down. I have not had time to shoot long range enough to know if the turrets track true. Clicks feel similar to vortex viper.

3. Really clear, super bright at dusk. Brighter than my viper PA 44mm by far.

4. Generous eye relief. Again better than the vortex viper PA has.

5. The tree in the reticle is useful for getting on target. I haven’t had to use it hunting yet though to see if I can make a field adjustment quicker than dialing the dope.

All my comparisons are to the viper pa since that’s what I shoot through most. I’m not sure if I’d buy the Midas at full msrp, but the sale I bought mine on I felt like I got a $500 scope for $300

One negative is the turrets aren’t quick reset. You have to use a small Allen wrench and set screws. Maybe a positive if you don’t change loads ever. At least you can tell if a friend jacked with them.
