Put a Henry 22 rimfire on layaway. Has the rail for scope. Can't focus open sights anymore. What would be a decent budget scope for this rifle. Use small game or plinking...thanks. Johnny
I'll check it out. Thanks for the information.. johnnyOP wants a BUDGET rimfire scope:
I put quite a few BSA scopes on .22’s while working in a big box store. I’ve personally never had one come back due to scope failure. That’s noteworthy due to their price point.
I was impressed enough by the features to put them on some of my .22’s.
Here is a compact version that should fit well on the Henry. They have other models as well.

Go to Natchezz shooters supply far a.wide choice of scopes at great prices. Also MidwayUSA.Didn't know Simmons was still in business..
I really like the Leupold 4x rimfire.
have you tried a Gru Bee scope? Just checked out their website. 3/4 tube 4x etc... wonder if they hold up.Because of the size of the rifle I might be looking at a gru-bee scope.
Riflescopes / Stock Trap Door / Bike Gun Rack.
Main collection for Riflescopes; Consist of sub collections of WolfPup 4X and BearCat 6X.www.grubee.net
Otherwise probably a 1" straight tube 1-4ish, used shotgun scopes work well, and theres some decent cheap options on amazon and ebay
no doubt im a fan of low power for squirrel, woodchucks type hunting. For just wondering about their track record. are they as durable as a vortex at similar price? I may give one a shot. I like small and light. any pics of yours?A 1-4X with a 20mm front objective or something similar is just about right for any lever action. You'll be amazed at how fast you can get on target on 1X or 1.5X. It's faster and easier than iron sights and 4X on the top end is enough magnification for most uses.
Plus, those scopes are as small and light as you can get and don't look too out of place on a lever gun.
I havent yet, i dont have any small rifles where they would work well.have you tried a Gru Bee scope? Just checked out their website. 3/4 tube 4x etc... wonder if they hold up.
I might. Tough when Vortex has a rimfire scope for the same amount of coin.I havent yet, i dont have any small rifles where they would work well.
@Riomouse911 has a thread on a couple he bought here.
I am trying out some GruBee scopes on Brownings
I have a couple of Browning .22’s that would benefit from a small scope, so I read some reviews and picked a couple of GruBee 4X scopes. I bought a Fox Pup and a Wolf Pup, both with a gloss finish and the 3/4” tube that the old style Redfield scopes had. These small scopes really do match the...www.thehighroad.org
That’s one reason I pulled the scope off my Henry. The other reason is it sort of overpowered the gun.Depends on what you consider budget. I would say Vortex Crossfire 2-7x32 rimfire or Leupold VX Freedom 2-7x35 rimfire is as budget as I’d go. Whatever you decide on make sure you mount it as low as possible or it will be awkward, unless you use a cheek riser on the stock.
I have 1 Gru Bee on a 22 rimfire and it holds up just fine. I have a featherweight Savage 30-06 on layaway that I intend to test the claims of being strong enough for centerfire.have you tried a Gru Bee scope? Just checked out their website. 3/4 tube 4x etc... wonder if they hold up.
look FWD to see how it holds upI have 1 Gru Bee on a 22 rimfire and it holds up just fine. I have a featherweight Savage 30-06 on layaway that I intend to test the claims of being strong enough for centerfire.
