I have a Browning X-Bolt .30-06 with a Nikon Team Primos 3x9x40. Mounts are the Talley one-piece. Sighted in at 200 yards and was first very low and right. Worked as I took my Muley at 95 yards and dropped on his tracks. However, it just bugs me how much adjustment I had to make. Picked up the Burris Signature rings with the posi align inserts as I want as little adjustment correction as possible with the scope. I don't have a scope mounting kit. What are the tips and tricks you have used to mount a scope without a kit to ensure proper alignment of the rings?

The inserts in the Signature rings will align the scope to the barrel, you don't need to lap anything. Just clean and degrease all the screw holes and use blue loctite when installing. If you're using turn-in rings don't use the scope to turn the rings into the base.
