Just purchased 2 cz 457’s. An at one, Boyd’s stock and the other is the manners stock, MTR rifle. Looking to have the At-One be more of a general purpose plinker, so maybe like a 3x9, maybe even up to a 15 power scope or more. On the MTR, looking to have that as a precision rifle, want a lot of glass on it, without exceeding the cost of the gun itself, $1,500. What would you do? Thank you in advance

Wow, those are really great 22LRs! I have Vortex scopes on mine and my Scout wears a Leupold. Anymore, I acquire optics from reputable companies that offer bullet-proof warranties. What kind of shooting and at what distances will you do with the MTR?

Thank you for the reply. The MTR will be 50 and 100 yard, but will definitely want to mess around with 300 plus yard shots, just for fun. I am a fan of vortex also. Was thinking about
Viper PST Gen II Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 5-25x 50mm.

That Viper would be a good choice for sure. Especially if shooting farther out.

I dont have a place to shoot my 457 outside of 100yds, so ive got a 6-18x42 Simmons whitetail expedition on it right now. I probably going to swap it out for the Blackhound Genesis I've got coming in the mail just to get better turrets.

I use a Mueller on my Target 22. Rimfire central guys like them. I like mine. I have used Weavers but they are almost gone. Burris scopes on sale Natchez and someplace else. I usually shoot at 25 and 50 yards. It depends on what games you play but I doubt a high end scope is necessary.

Yup, that Viper PST is alot of scope which can definitely get you out well beyond 100 yds; the open turrets on that one are simply gold, but I've never tried the Christmas tree reticle. It's a BEAST! I use the Viper HS LR 4-16x44 which is plenty out to 100 yds., but unfortunately, we can't shoot rimfires beyond 100 yds at our range.

I would consider these:

I will look into those, thank you

I would consider these:
I know it’s a lot of glass, and it’s not necessary, but………it’s a lot of fun this way. Especially if you are just out to have fun. It seems that a lot of ranges aren’t allowing 22 beyond 100 yards. Is that a thing now?

I’ll look into Mueller, thank you. A high end scope definitely is not needed, but it sure does add to the please of shooting.

My dad runs sightron S-iii lrt 10-50x56 on his long range rifle...... Glass on that thing is fantastic, turrets are good, makes for a really solid package if large and heavy.
I've had a few of s-tac 3-16x42 which is very good glass especially for the money.

I wouldn't recommend junk. which many cheap scopes are. Yes, spend the money to be happy with whatever you buy. I am a CZ shooter too and I would want a good scope to see those tiny little holes. I recently bought a Burris for my grandson's rifle.

Our club's ranges are in or near urban sprawl, so there's a concern about shots missing the berms. Beyond 200 yds, we're really lobbing 22LR to the target, and there're plenty of unskilled shooters out there, so...that's why we can't have nice things.
It seems that a lot of ranges aren’t allowing 22 beyond 100 yards. Is that a thing now?

I think the best inexpensive rimfire scope for plinking is Tract 22Fire 4-12X. I have two of them that I bought for under $200; they are now $245. I don't like saying they are "good for the price", which suggests trading quality for low price. Tract simply makes really good scopes. I have 4 of them.

A 15x scope for a .22 plinker...

I’d get a Leupold 2-7 Rimfire. Quality scope for a quality rifle. Not too bulky or heavy, and more than appropriate for the task.
