Scoped revolver.

Looks like a Redhawk to me but I’m not a huge Ruger DA fan. These guns are known to have crazy potential though and the frankenrugers that got built 10 years or more ago were some of the most accurate revolvers ever made.
aaahhhh yes! the Redhawk! thanks

did you see the grouping on my 20+ yo $500 GP?

Thats a Leupold 2X Extended Eye Relief pistol scope. Also called an "EER"

Not even listed as current product.
FWIW, they still make a 4X and it's listed as 18" of eye relief.

IMHO 2X is easier to use.
Had one on an 8" Ruger 22 pistol
Not a huge selection or availability for pistol scopes. I got this one off ebay awhile back.

Bisley Blackhawk Hunter in .44 Magnum. 4x Leupold. Got it when California went to non-lead ammunition for hunting. It's never been terribly accurate, and I regret choosing 4x instead of 2x - the extra magnification isn't at all necessary for 50 to 100 yard shots, and vignetting is a serious issue with the 4x. It's accounted for several central California pigs, though, which really just shows that perfection isn't a requirement.

I've tried off and on to get used to EER scopes.
Even on variables I ended up cranking them down to lowest power.

But if ya want a scope, hard to beat a 2X.

One thing about a red dot sight (unlike a scope) ....doesn't magnify your wobbles ;)

If I ever get a 9.5 SRH .44 mag I'll try a reflex at fwd ring position.
Proly have to have a mount made.

The one I used for a deer season was my dad's. It shot very well.

I’ve owned a couple dozen pistol scopes and in my opinion that 2x leupold is the best handgun scope ever made.

My thought was if a 44 mag with a 2x scope wasn't enough I should just use a rifle... Anyone use one of the leupold Red Dots Screenshot_20231029_100125_Google.jpg

Had one. 34mm tube. Even so, there's, lots of "stuff" around it.

The pictured mount works for absolute co-witness on an AR. Its heavy.

The sight worked perfectly for me..... other than small window for size, emitter housing reflection visible, and overall just too heavy.

There are better options IMHO.

Aimpoint PRO with a ring mount to a pic rail, is what I'd go with on a Contender (if wanting traditional RDS).
Less bulky and lighter, a reflex. The window is smaller but the housing is too. They may take more getting used to, to find the dot in presentation.
I find tube style RDS easier for whatever reason.
BTW, my Contender wears a reflex sight, 3 moa.
Trying to ditch the Chinesium for a Leupold DPP
The reflex makes it a more trim/handy item IMHO.
Dunno how durable my Sightmark reflex is. Was on a turkey gun, so has had a couple dozen magnum 12 shots, held zero.
See if this Contender .35 rem eats it. LOL

Thought about Aimpoint Acro P2 but nobody has one for me to check, just P1s.

Going to zero a rifle later this week and will take the Contender. Snap pics then, and see how the reflex works out.

I picked this up this spring for a decent price. Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Mag with a 2x Swift scope. Great eye relief. You can hold it like an iron sighted pistol (full arm extension) and get a full image picture in the scope. At first I thought the barrel was too long and considered chopping it down from 9.5" to about 6.5-7" but the long barrel and weight tames the recoil down so much 44 mag loads feel like 44 special (45ACP) loads.
