No, a Violence Tax is a great idea. The Violence itself should be taxed, not one particular instrument capable of inflicting it. Bring back weregild.

This crap has been tried before,
The NRA will challenge this, it is like a poll tax restriction on voting civil rights.This sets a very bad precedent for assault on the second amendment, especially if this tax goes state wide. I've predicted since I started posting on THR that the feds will try and discourage people from buying ammo by taxing it into oblivion, much like how cigarettes are taxed and justify this as a public safety issue.
It's coming folks.
