Welcome to the Rimfire Match for the months of April/May/June! This match is open to any and every 22 caliber (as well as 17 and 20 caliber) rimfire rifle including the perennial favorite .22LR, as well as the .22Short, .22Long, .22 Mag., .17HM2, .17HMR, and 5mm Rem RF Mag (as well as any oddball rimfires that you might have). This match is meant to be challenging and educational, but most of all FUN. Hopefully it will get you out to the range and shooting your rifle. If you have one handy, make sure an bring a friend too.

There are Two Optics Divisions:
->Iron sights and non-magnified optics and red dots. Shot at 25yds.
->Scopes and other magnified sighting devices. Shot at 50yds.

*Note that the distance of irons div. returned to 25yds.

There are Two Rifle Classes:
->Unlimited/Target Rifles (highly modified rifles, rests, target sights, sub-.20cal. chamberings, high magnification optics- over 10x [in the appropriate division] may be used)
->Sporting Rifles (Includes All Non-Target Class Autoloaders, Bolt Actions, Single Shots, Pumps, & Lever Rifles chambered for any rimfire cartridge .20cal./5mm and larger)

Both classes can be shot from any position. Rests/Sandbags/bipods are permitted in the Target Class only. Shooting stick(s) are now permitted for both divisions (either crossed or walking stick style). Use of a sling is encouraged.

25 Yd. (Irons) Target: See image attached below. Scale to "fit to page" on standard 8.5x11in. paper. The objective is to fire one shot at each of the bullseye targets. The target is scored as marked with double points being given for each of the four small bullseyes, for a maximum available score of 90.

50 Yd. (Optics) Target: Same as above.

[strike]If you enjoyed this match and want a bit more challenge, or just compare your rimfires to their larger cousins, check out the concurrent Centerfire Match (now quarterly)[/strike]. Discontinued till further notice.

When you are satisfied you've done your best post/attach (or shoot me a PM) a photo or scan of your target with as much of the following information as possible: Forum name (or name you want posted in the results), Rifle, make, model, vintage (if known), Sights/Optics (with magnification if applicable), Ammo, Position, Distance, Conditions (in/outdoors, wind, temperature...). Multiple submissions are allowed (in same or different division/class with same or different rifles).

Self-scoring is encouraged and appreciated; all submissions due before June, 31st. ;)

Looks like it could be a good one. Little wind and 40's today, might have to get out and give it a try.

Oh, one little detail that I forgot to clarify, you needn't stay within to acquire the higher point value, just break the ring.

:)

Are there instructions for ensuring the proper scaling of the target when printing it out?
Yes sir. Just scale "fit to page" on a standard 8.5x11in. paper.

:)

Thank you for getting us started, ford8nr! Looks like there is going to be some stiff competition this time around.

:)

Here's my submission. This was actually pretty tough and it took 5 tries to get this. Pretty windy today for rimfire down at CRPC today.

H&R M-12 .22LR
BSA Platinum 6-32x44mm
Wolf Match Target ammo
Front rest and rear bag

I'm scoring this as an 88. The upper right target was close, but it did break the scoring ring. More detailed pic available if the shot comes under scrutiny.

Glad to see someone got out to shoot. I've got some time off so hopefully I can get back out. Bad part is I'm all but out of match ammo, might make things tough.

My apologies for the slow response, Merle, but welcome to the match! Hope you enjoy it and return for many more.

:)

Got a chance to get out this morning for a little time after a 12 hour night shift.Came up with an 84...tougher target then it looks.

Well, I'll post my 61pts with irons, man I didn't realize how bad my eyes have gotten. I could pretty much see the center bull, but pretty hazy on the smalls. Fun stuff. Shot with my son.

I think you forgot something, BUGUDY. FWIW I think a score of 61 is pretty fair with irons...that might be a tough one to beat, especially if done in the Sporting class.

:)

BUGUDY, Welcome to the match !!
Great to see more shooters. I'll try to get back out and take my son with our old Winchester 74 and see what we can do with irons. I still want to better my scoped target. Time and ammo will tell, I'm running out of "the good stuff".

Marlin 60 w/Federal Match ammo. Sitting on a lawnmower fender resting against a porch pole. We had to shot under the lean to for the rain. I am going to try again this week end. Thanks
