Picked up a Seecamp .32 acp at local gun shop today. Gun looks NIB. Came with the box, all factory paperwork, an extra magazine, and a wallet style leather holster. At $350, I thought it was a decent deal. Anyone have experience with one of these? Seems to be a well built pocket gun.

Oldschool shooter

At $350 with all of that with it I think you did very well on a gun that you don't see very often for sale. The only negative thing I can remember reading about the Seecamp was that it was originally designed to be used primarily with Winchester's Silvertip ammo. Not sure how true this is so you might want to try different loads through to see if it will operate reliably with them.

I have one I picked up in 1986 or so.
Back in the day, they were extremely cutting edge. There was nothing close to that size in any caliber but .25. They were a hot item in the high speed, low drag IPSC crowd I was hanging out with.

They were also impossible to find. They were close to $1000 on the open market. ($300 or so if you wanted to order one from the factory....and wait).

It was designed around the Silvertip round. Ball will generally not fit in the magazine. There's a short list of current recommended rounds. Follow the link Gary A supplied and you can check out the ammo list. I know the Gold Dot and the Fiochi HP are recommended.

They just reintroduced the original .25 version. I picked one up too. Very cool, one extra round and shoots any crappy ammo I've fed it.

It's "the" gun for those times you really need a deep concealment piece.

Carried a Seecamp for many years, an older one like sgt127's. Current models are made on CNC machines of a stronger stainless alloy. The only ammo I used that I didn't like, and I tried them all, was CorBon. I used Silver Tip mostly but it's hard to find now. Gold Dot or Hornady 60 gr. HP are good picks and usually available.

I carried mine in a Hedley pocket holster. I recommend one if you want a different holster than the one you have.

Read and follow the manual. The Seecamp isn't like other pistols. I has it's quirks. That said it's one of my all time favorite guns. Reliable and trusted.

Great deal at that price.

Springs and even screws take a beating in such a small frame. Parts are cheap and readily replaced. Buy extras to keep your gun in great shape. Photo of a few parts that I replaced and their newer iterations. Recoil spring in particular should be changed regularly.

Thanks for the feedback. As a couple of you have noted, it was designed for the silvertip round. I will try them and some of the other rounds recommended on the Seecamp site. Will also look into spare parts. I love my grandfather's 1903 pocket hammerless, but for concealment, it's is big and heavy for the caliber. I'll give an update once I get out to shoot it. Thanks again.

I've been carrying a Seecamp .32 for about 5 years in a leather pocket holster from Ryan Grizzle. I bought mine used from Florida Gun Exchange in Port Orange, FL. My carry load is Winchester FMJ, which is a flat point bullet that has the same overall length as a JHP cartridge. I've also fired Speer Gold Dot and Hornady XTP when I've run out of the Winchester load. I prefer XTP to the Gold Dot load. The Winchester load can be found at Walmart.

I can shoot my Seecamp accurately to 10 yards. Beyond that it's a challenge.
