Picked up some Sellier and Bellot buck shot the other day. When I opened it I noticed the shells (2 3/4") where slightly longer than what I usually shoot. Also, the shot is not contained in a wad. My caliper measures a live a round at 2.449", Remington at 2.309", Federal at 2.255", and Fiocchi at 2.278". My concern is if anyone has experienced cycling issues with the slightly longer shell. My shotgun is a Browning A-5 light 12.

Why not shoot a few just to ease your troubled mind?Calipers indeed!

Shotgun shells are classified by their length unfolded after they are fired. 2-3/4" shells are no longer than that length when fired and are usually somewhat shorter before being fired. S&B Buckshot usually doesn't have a folded crimp but instead has a plastic disc (card) that sits on top of the shot and the case is roll crimped to hold it in place. The OAL of the S&B cases before being fired are longer than typical buckshot from most other sources and contains more shot count than the others as a result of the way they hold the shot in place.

I've never had any problems with feeding or ejection of S&B 00 shells in my 870 and of course no issue in my SXS. They do usually take away 1 shell from the count in the magazine though.

I've ran S&B buckshot through my 20" Mossberg 500 without any issues. The magazine holds 7 with them like it's supposed to. That said I have the clear S&B shells, no idea if that makes a difference. Also I'm not familiar with your model shotgun. I would just shoot some and see what happens.
