Well it is Fall in Michigan and I again pestered my husband to get into some shooting competiton to keep us active during the winter months. We found that our local gun club was holding classes on how to shoot the PPC course. I am 67 and hubby is 70. Too old? Well we have gone twice and I have had so much fun I am ready to join the association and go to some competitions. The only trouble I had was with the prone position. One of the deputies there showed me a good way to position my self and I was hitting the 9 & 10 ring in the second round. I just bought a Springfield XD40 4" and it seems to be perfect for me to shoot this course. No extra safeties or hammers to worry about. Just draw, point and shoot. I think this is going to be a fun winter!:D

Congratulations!

We have several "seasoned shooters" at our club. They save us a lot of target tape because one short strip generally covers their pairs quite easily.

Enjoy, and stay safe,

Well, we have finished 3 sessions and hubby decided to buy a .357 revolver to shoot the course instead of his duty .45, which is about 50 years old, since I have been scoring better than he has. The intstructors told him they have better scores with a revolver. He picks up the revolver Saturday after having a trigger job done. We'll see if the XD rules.:)

We have a 65 yr. old that shoots local IDPA with us and while he's not runnin' & gunnin' it's not uncommon for him to have the least "points down" in a 4-Stage 35 target Match.

He's an old Bullseye Shooter and his accuracy with a Makarov or Browning makes most of us look sick!
