I had the Pearce grip extensions installed on 2 6-rd magazines for my Kahr MK9, until this happened: I was wearing my MK9 in an IWB tucked holster with one of the 6-rd mags inserted. I was sitting down at a family dinner, and somehow the extension snagged on the back of the chair and came off. The mag spring shot out of the magazine and ended up trapped between my t-shirt and long-sleeved shirt. Fortunately, only my wife heard the sound.
I excused myself from the table to regroup, and discovered that the mag extension does not lock on, rather I can slide it off just by pushing on it lightly. When I originally put the extensions on, they were very secure, and I couldn't remove them without pushing in the pin at the bottom of the extension to relieve mag spring tension. Now both extensions are loose, and 1 of the mags has never been used in the gun since the extension was installed. What I think has happened is that the plastic extension's slot, which slides onto the bottom of the metal magazine, has stretched under magazine spring pressure so that it doesn't grip the mag tightly anymore.
I e-mailed Pearce regarding this a few weeks ago, and have yet to hear back from them. Has this happened to anyone else?
