I learned many years ago that labor, administrative costs, legal-liability issues, marketing & other factors cause a US made firearm to have a steep price.

When Clinton was elected Democrats controlled all branches of government, President, Senate, and House. The Brady bill was enacted at the end of 1993. In the November election of 1994, Democrats lost control of both the House and Senate. The Brady Bill was not the only reason Democrats lost in 1994 but it was a big reason.
So yes, it did impact Bill Clinton's career and in a big way.
