Found a couple of internet retailers that I wanted to see if anyone has dealt with.

Has anyone around here dealt with Sharp Shooter Supply, particularly the stocks for the Savage rimfires?

Also, how good is the ammo from Georgia Arms. Particularly the 52 grain match hollow point .223 and the 168 and 175 grain Sierra Matchking .308.

Georgia Arms is ok, I buy their canned heat 223 55 gr. fmj's and keep it as my SHTF ammo, it comes in ammo cans.... I don't know anything about the other...

Sharp Shooter is a great company to deal with. I've purchased multiple times from them and have never had an issue. They are THE go-to guys for Savage stuff.

Sharp Shooters Supply.....Top notch company, we use them from time to time.
Ol' Fred is one of the foremost authorities on Savage bolt action rifles.

Georgia Arms....very limited dealings with this company, and I was not involved so, I'll leave it at that!

i have a sharpshooterssupply trigger on a pre-accutrigger 10fp and its great. i cant imagine the accutrigger is better.

Thanks everyone, I'll let you know how the stocks work out. Next time I'm in need of some ammo for the centerfires, I'll try Georgia Arms and post a range report.

Never tried the 175gr 308 loads but I have tried the 150 nosler BT loads and the 168 "match" loads from them. The 168s were more consistent at 1.5" at 100, but the 150s made targets explode and posted some small groups as well. I Have bought at least 1000 rounds of 45acp and 308 from Georgia Arms and have NEVER had a problem with it. If I didn't reload, I would be hitting them up all the time. Good quality, great people, good prices. Not much to hate!

The only problem with Georgia Arms is generally very very very long delays to get shipments as in months and months unless you luck out (only kind of their fault since they have trouble getting components though they could stop accepting orders for things they are massively behind on).

I like the accuracy and price of GA match ammo, but I've had a couple problems with GA. Sending the wrong ammo and me having to call twice to get it taken care of, and then not shipping my order for in-stock ammo for over a week and not letting me know anything about it at all. Things like this are totally unacceptable, imho. I have ordered thousands of rounds from CTD and from AmmoToGo and they ship within hours and have never goofed an order (I'm sure they'd make it right asap if they did).

I'm trying HSM next from SniperCentral and if that shoots as well as is said, it'll be my new "everyday" .308 load.

Haven't purchased any rifle ammo from Georgia Arms but have purchased many thousands of rds of .40 cal canned heat for range ammo. Good prompt service, no problems, will continue to shop with them

I have used there ammo, both hunting and practice for several decades and if your range report is not good ,, sell the gun. It ain't the ammo's fault.

Definitely. I can shoot Georgia Arms 168gr BTHP match in the middle of a session where I'm using Federal Gold Medal Match and I literally can't tell the difference. The accuracy and consistency has been awesome. Just wish it would get here. :(

Snakeum, I like them junk guns,,,,don';t cost as much to buy and can fix and tune them in my spair time . I also varnish mine after ever other use, maybe

One poster here reported that his hastily purchased GA rifle ammo wasn't compatible with his rifle - found out when he went to a class. Might want to buy a couple of boxes first and make sure your rifle likes it.

On the plus side, I've been shooting their ammo since 1991 and never an issue. But I don't shoot match grade rifles either. :(

SSS A+ to deal with! Don't rip you off on shipping, great prices.

Nothing worse then paying $9.95 UPS, for a $3.00 spring:cuss:

Georgia Arms

I ordered 1000 rounds of .45 online. Their site indicated they had ammo ready to ship.

Took forever for my order to arrive - 3 months. When it finally arrived, it was only for 1/2 the amount I ordered. A note they included said that due to the ammo shortage, they were cutting orders to just 500 rounds.

I didn't care for the high-handed tone or the wait for the order. So I have not ordered from them since, nor do I intend to. There are other suppliers who don't pull that shxt.

The ammo looks good and shoots okay, but was very dirty.

I have purchased GA Arms ammo at gun shows. In particular, I have bought their 41 mag ammo. Ordered some wadcutters last week, but I have no idea how long it will take for the order to arrive. They told me on the phone that they were out of brass, but the website did not indicate this. Ordered anyway. Not particularly low on ammo, so it will be good to get some more of this in eventually.

That's my issue with GA, as well. Before I order anything from anybody I call first to see what kind of lead time we're looking at. Both times GA says "It's here and can go out tomorrow." or "It's here and will ship in a couple of days."

The first time it took almost a week to get a UPS tracking number, and when the product arrived it was the wrong ammo (they sent 45LC when I ordered 308). Took another week to get the ammo I actually ordered.

Now on the second order (also told "It's in stock will ship in a couple of days.") it's going on two weeks and nothing. No tracking number ... nada. I've sent two emails now and I keep being told "It'll go out the next couple of days".

They'll not get anymore of my business and I'll make everyone knows how they work when their name comes up. This kind of service is completely unacceptable.

I ordered 2 ammo boxes of 223 from GA and was told there would be a minor delay due to volume ordering and it was only a 2 weeks delay, so no big deal. You have to understand the problem most manufacturers are having these days in the Obama era and everyone buying guns and ammo. I will continue to buy from GA.

Wow, Georgia Arms must screw up a lot of orders. They shorted me a bag of 100 .44 Mag Gold Dots once. Had to email for a refund.

They also cancelled part of an order that was in short supply. Problem is, they never notify you until you get the invoice with your partial order, weeks or months later. There's a sense of "we're too busy to talk to you" that I don't get with other companies.

I've never dealt with SSS, but I've sent thousands of rounds of GA ammo downrange over the years.

Their 9mm, .38, .357, .223, 10mm, and .308 have all been trouble free, excepting a blown primer on a .223 reload a few years back. Their .45 ammo has been a little spotty for me--My Springfield Loaded will choke on the .45 JHP every so often, but the FMJ load has been fine.

As for their .308 and .223 "Match Grade" I don't have any complaints. It's not Black Hills, but it definitely groups tighter than most surplus or off-the-shelf loads that I've tried.

Nothing but good things to say about Sharp Shooter Supply, they are great to deal with! Good product too!

I had excellent service with Georgia Arms with their 38 spc wad cutters....bought my Wolf .223's from aimes surplus ($22/100) with excellent results.
