Posting this to help a guy I don't know personally, but is probably as pi$$ed as I'd be, identify and catch a possible thief.

Here's the story:

This weekend I went to switch out my cards on my trail cameras. I have still been running my cameras because my dad, brother and I like gathering sheds every year. A couple of the cameras had a picture of a guy in camo walking by. You couldn't see his face to make out who it is. The last camera had a perfect picture of the guy's face. I have attached the picture.

I don't think it is coincidental; 2 of my cameras are now missing from this property. We have owned this property for many years and don't really appreciate people sneaking around on it picking up the sheds before we have a chance. To top off our frustration, we are missing 2 of our cameras that cost $250 a piece.

I am asking for your help to help identify the guy in the picture. Please forward this email on to contacts that might know anybody in the Iola area. Surely, somebody can recognize this guy. My assumption is the guy lives within 30-40 miles of Iola. You can zoom in on the picture by clicking on the bottom right icon.

Feel free to email me back with any information or you can call me on my cell phone (918) 633-3374.

Thanks,

Craig Yocham

I'd post his picture at each gate with another camera stashed somewhere that would capture his license plate. Also, he has a shed in his hand and is trespassing. I think that's two counts, theft and trespassing. Also, cameras are gone, assume this guy did it too. If you find out who it is via a license plate or what not, I'm sure the local law would happily drop by his residence and discuss your ability to press charges and make his life a miserable or simply turn over the stolen goods and stay clear of a crappy record.

Actually, I'd go one step further and simply turn the picture into the police. Not that they'll do anything since is property related, but it will show that you're not letting it slide if and when you do finally gather more data on this trespassing thief.

Forwarded it to about 5 guys I know. Hopefully you catch this @#$er. I would be putting chains on any treestands that may still be out there.

Turn that into your closest TPWD office and ask that they follow up/stake it out. They probably know the guy.

At that point, he probably realized there were more cameras than the ones he'd already found and stolen, and realized he probably had been snapped by several without even knowing it. He probably figured stealing it was futile, and left it.

Id take that picture to my local LEOs first and see if they are familiar. I would then ask my adjacent landowners and then take it to your local hunting stores.

If that dont work take out an ad in your local paper with that picture. Somebody will talk.

Go get im!

That expression tells me he feels in hell filled with cameras in those woods.

What'cha gonna do?
What'cha gonna do?
What'cha gonna do when camera snaps yer mug!
Those game cameras give you no break!

Sorry, bad parody.

Could be he is not the guy that took your camera's but just out looking for sheds and stumbled on your property without knowing, saw the camera and left. Just the other side of the coin, how can we know, yes he was where he was not suppose to be but maybe that was all being he did not steal the one camera that took his pick.

I always figure that if it "looks like a duck", it probably is a duck.

But, as BFE stated, you can't really know this for sure, and would be very hard pressed to prove such a fact in a court of law!

Trespassing could probably be supported, though I wonder if the local DA would even be willing to take the case, depending on how the land is delineated from any surrounding public lands, etc.

But, the camera theft might be hard to prove unless he is caught with the property, or more evidence becomes available. Personally, I feel that a theft charge would be unlikely in the case of an antler shed, though it admittedly isn't the type of call I'd ever get around here (I police a metro area, and most of the gang bangers in my hood wouldn't even recognize the antlers if they found them!).

Still, I'm glad you caught a picture of a potential suspect, and I think you'd do well by passing it around. You never know, there could be other cases like this in your area, and there might be additional evidence linking to your guy in those instances!

I would have to agree and if it were me I would do everything possible to locate this guy if for no other reason just get a feel for why he was there. You never know and it could prove either way but you will not know unless he is found.

i doubt he saw this camera, seems if he did he would have taken it. and i agree with mikebnem it looks like he has at least one camera on him at the time of this photo.
post his picture in the local towns! telephone poles, local stores, hunting stores (a priority)
