Shelf Life on Large Pistol Primers left out on loading bench

I once bought a 1,000 box of Federal #100 small pistol primers from a shooting buddy.
He had to leave for a Dr’s appointment so he set them on a flower planter on his front porch. Along came a thunderstorm that drenched them!

I took them home and opened all the trays after draining off the water. I left them on the deep freezer in a warm storage room for about a week to dry out.
Every one popped normal!

Similar experience. Fedups somehow managed to wet a case of primers for delivery here. I thought about what I had read on disabling primers. So I opened a flat and left it on the bench for a few days, then loaded them. They all fired, so I just got into a routine of open some up and leave them to air dry before loading. Then open some more. All 5000 fired.

Should be fine. I’ve shot (and still use) CCI LRP from the 1970s that were stored in an Utah garage that varied between 22ish F in the winter and 108F in the summer. Haven’t had one yet that didn’t pop.
This is about where my experience is at^^^ not quite those extremes though.

In short, the primers we all possess today would all go bang long after we are gone.
