Sheriff's Rifle from Rambo: First Blood

I was watching this wonderful 80's classic tonight and during the chase through the woods, I noticed that while all the deputies are armed with AR15 (M16 maybe since they fire full auto?) rifles the sheriff is carrying something different.
Now I didn't get a good look at it but it almost looks like an HK carbine of some sort. Does anybody know what good ole Sheriff Teasle was carrying?

I literally just got done watching Rambo on DVD. I bought the box set. Good buy.

I think it might have been an HK 33 or something like that but I'm not sure.

yeah, its hard to tell what model it actually is. Seems a bit short to be an actual G3.

It's either an HK93 (semi-auto only) or HK33 (full auto)...

Bubs is correct. In one shot you can see the magazine and its way to skinny to be holdin 7.62 NATO. The rifle itself is also a lot more compact than the G3 is.
