I've had a shield for a while now, and finally had a few moments to work on the trigger. It's was pretty good from thefactort but had a little grittiness to it. I found a few trigger mod videos on YouTube, and spent about 2 hours last night pulling the rear sight, polishing the striker safety plug and trigger bar, and deburring the hole the striker safety plug goes into.

All I can say is its a night and day difference. Perfectly smooth now with no grit or roughness whatsoever.

I know there's the apex kit, but sometimes there's a level of satisfaction fron doing something like that yourself instead of just dropping replacement parts in.

In my research I also gained a more in depth knowledge of the inner workings if the whole fireing mechanism.

If anyone has some grit in their shield, I highly recommend polishing the various parts yourselff if you have the time and ability. The hardest part is getting that rear sight off.

I took a work sharp to my shields trigger bar and striker face, these alone made a huge difference, almost all the gritty feeling is gone. Once I decide on a set of night sights (leaning XS small dot) I'll decide if I want to invest in a apex kit or just polish/round out the plunger.

I never touched the plunger, just polish the tip of the trigger bar and an Apex sear, AmeriGlo sights.
