Okay, please just indulge my rant.

Am looking through Gunbroken and I'm noticing what looks like a trend: rising shipping costs.

I can see $20 and $25, 30 and even $35. At $40 I start to balk and at $50 or even one (Hauges?) is saying $75 to ship I'm through. Business must be good to charge those prices..

Here in WA state there's a 10% tax on dealer guns via internet plus $25 FFL (which is reasonable I think). But when you add $40 or $75 to the price of a pistol, I'm out. done. ain't buy'n from that dealer.

Anyone else feel the same.

(Thanks. Rant is over. I feel better. But I still ain't buying at $45 unless the actual price is a steal.)

Best part of shopping is just that, finding the deal you can live with. And yes, high shipping and added 3-5% credit card fees are no-no’s that I look for, too.

Here in Ca there is sales tax, your FFL charges their receiving fee, and the State charges almost $40 to register the gun. Then because of the 10-day wait, you have to go to the FFL 2x so there is travel time/hassle if the FFL isn’t local.

Stay safe.

I grind my teeth everytime I see one of those $50 shipping fees on a gun with a decent price. It's just another way of hiding a higher price. I check the "Free shipping" filter box on GB a lot. Sometimes, even with the $30-40 shipping fee, a deal is still the lowest total price I see. But I don't think I've ever seen one where a $50 ship is the best deal. I check prices on several sites and GB usually is the lowest, by a tad, and if it's used, GB is the first place I look.
