You need to take it to an actual Fedex office, not a Kinkos or a drop box. They will do a pickup, but you will probably have to give detailed instructions to the driver. Call first. In any case, you must ship next day air. Do anything else and they will not be responsible for any loss.
I shipped my Model 29 to S&W a couple of times in the past year using Fedex.

If it is a long gun it can go by Ground service, otherwise it has to go Overnight. As stated above you have to take it to an actual FedEx depot(where the trucks come from) not a shipping store or Kinkos.
