I just want to say my two boys (14 & 12) and I had the best time today plinking! We set up targets at 60' and put some holes in it, then we started improvising and had the best time!!!

Win Mod 61 & 74
10-22
Savage 22-410 (my FiL's passing straight to my oldest--he had the best time even when he didn't have a repeater!).
H&R 9 shot pistol (First can on first shot at 60' from the old man...yes, I was pretty happy showing off to my boys on that one! Too bad all the other shots didn't go so well ;) ).

Enjoy your evening everyone!

Greg

Sounds like a great day and a nice family setting. And being as far south I'm sure you were able to all tough out the day easily enough.

Been a little too cold and wet up this way to go out at all. And the good days are still nippy enough to keep the range time down to about 2 hours tops.

Ya play, ya pay.
The boys just finished cleaning with me 'till the patch comes clean'.

Happy New Year y'all.

I am almost 60, still got my "Sears and Roebuck" single shot, short, long, long rifle .22, made by Marlin I think.....can still pop a water moccassins head off at 30 yards plus. I have had it for almost 55 years, my best friends sons will inherit all my firearms someday.

Yes, the weather today was great. I was in shorts and a t-shirt (not to rub it in). I hope you are able to get out and have some fun as well BCRider.

TexPat I hope you have many more years of fun with those guns before he get's them. :)

Is it the scarcity of .22 LR that makes it so much fun? I shot 300 rounds through my old Ruger MkI last weekend. What a blast! I have to admit not shooting any 22 stuff for a while now, due to the lack of availability. It was just turning out warm and I got a little itchy to pop some caps. Grabbed a cigar and drove out to the desert, had a great day. I would recommend it.

You just cannot beat an afternoon of family and .22 guns! Those young'uns will remember that plinking session for ...decades! Cool
