I can't find any glasses for big headed people (like me).

I've got a round head wider than most people.
I also have a short nose bridge and big cheeks.
Three things happen when I try on glasses:
-They're too narrow and won't go on my head
-They are wide enough for my head but the temple pieces are too short to reach correctly over my ears.
-The nose piece is too short and the glasses end up sitting on my fat cheeks.

I use safety glasses fairly regularly for shooting, yard work, and firefighting.
Can anyone suggest any good quality comfortable safety glasses that meet ANSI specs? Preferably polarized or tinted.
I don't mind spending $50-100 as long as someone with a large head can confirm that the glasses fit and work well.

Thanks for the link and quick response...but glasses with that shape don't work well with my big cheeks:(

I'd also like them to wrap around. You never know when burning embers and hot water will spash the side of your face when you're fighting fire.

The International HI-LO model comes with an adjustable bridge that can be moved up and down. Give them a call and see if it can be adjusted to fit your face.

Also, see what their return policy. Order a pair and see if you can make them fit properly and return them if they don't work.

I have a fairly large head and these work great:

NYX Carbon Glasses. As you can see in the pic, the lenses are cut away to clear big cheeks. The nosepieces grip very well and are vented so they don't build up hot spots. You can even get custom prescription inserts that attach to the nosepieces, so it's really easy to swap out lenses.

You could always go to an optometrist. Non prescription lenses aren't all that expensive.

Yup. Go for a fitting and then just get clear or tinted PC lenses. If you have eye insurance from work, then this is covered.

I'll chime in supporting non-prescription "prescription" safety glasses. You can even try Walmart if they have a vision center. That way you get ANSI compliant custom eyewear at a reasonable cost.

I have the same head and nose shape that you describe and have had my best luck with Oakley's M-frame wrap arounds. Wide frame, comfortable nose piece, and the lenses come in a variety of shapes so you can find the one that fits your cheeks best. The big drawback is that they are not cheap-running $80-120 depending on where you find them and what lense you get.

I thought I'd give everyone an update just in case someone has the same problem in the future.

The oakley M frames are a very tight fit, won't even go on my head.

I did buy a pair of the Revision Sawfly. The sawfly comes in a large size and is only $30 on ebay.
They fit my head well and my cheeks make a minimal amount of contact on the lower edge of the lenses.
However, they are HUGE glasses. They aren't just wider, they're taller from the top of the lens to the bottom. They give me just as much coverage as goggles.
They look silly, but if you need safety glasses then these have got to be the best.
The lenses surpass the ANSI Z87.1 specs by a long shot.
They will be my go to glasses for firefighting.

I also found out that Oakley makes and "Asian Fit" line of glasses.
These are the normal models, but the front is a tiny bit flatter vs curved to hug a normal face.
The stems are rounded outward to fit larger heads.
The nose pieces are larger to compensate for small nose bridges and the lenses are also trimmed on the lower edge to clear higher cheek bones.

I purchased the Flak Jacket XLJ Asian Fit ($140) and the Radar Path Asian Fit ($180) from www.zappos.com (great service, free overnight shipping even on returns).
I'd tried both the normal models, the Radar would go on my face but the lenses rubbed my cheeks and the Flak Jacket was too narrow to even get them on.
The Asian Fit models are great, the Radar Asian Fit frame fit my head very nicely, but the lenses still poked me a tiny bit.
The Flak Jacket Asian Fit lenses work great with my face, but the frame is just a tiny bit snug.
Both are ANSI Z87.1 rated for impact protection.
I ended up keeping the Flak Jacket Asian Fit because they look better on me and returned the Radars.
The Revision Sawfly will be my work glasses and the Flak Jacket Asian Fit will be my everyday and light work glasses. You just can't find a good balance of style and utility...
Maybe I'll get a pair of the Radar Path Asian Fit glasses when Oakley carries them on their goverment discount site.

Here's a pic of my large noggin:

You can see why lens clearence is a big issue with my cheeks...

ESS makes good stuff...unfortunately the ICE 2.4 rub my cheeks.
I really wanted something that wouldn't look like safety glasses, but finally realized that they don't make anything like that.
The closest are the full coverage Oakleys.

I got the Revisions cause they're wider than the ESS. They came with clear and tinted lenses, so I can use them at night too. I don't like yellow lenses, it's difficult to see smoke and flames. The revisions are a lot cheaper than the ESS too.
