I have the perfect topography for this , but it could be done on level ground using tall 4x4 posts to mount the pulleys.
It's 100yds fully deployed, but I can stop it anywhere in between.
I also added some magnets to the bottom of the target and a piece of steel back stop at 100yd so mild wind doesn't affect it.
The target is just 3' x 2' piece of TPO roof material with an adhesive reactive target from Walmart. The target hanger is just 1/2" pvc. The drive pulley is a deck spindle assembly from a lawn mower. I removed the blade and locked the bolt down good.
Worn out old Dewalt takes about 20 seconds to retrieve or deploy.

Being in Phoenix, if I had the budget, an indoor, air conditioned range for the summer months.

Also being in Phoenix, an outdoor range, with nice benches, and shade, for the perfect months.
