I hope I can impose on the membership here for a few moments to ask for your help.

I've been commissioned to conduct a survey of gun owners to determine if your needs for a range are currently being met, and what sort of range services and shooting styles you guys would like to have available if your present range/club does not provide them.

The survey is completely confidential and takes less than five minutes to complete.
Please feel free to circulate this link among your fellow gun owners. The more responses we have from a diversified population, the better the quality of information.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

My range doesn't allow holsters and requires atleast 2 seconds betweeen shots. Also does not allow any human shaped targets.

That being said its a public range operated by state and only charges 3 dollars (for one hr if theres a line unlimited if not) so for the price I'll deal with the above annoyances.

Ah nevermind lol didn't notice this was directed at northeasterners til I clicked

Vamo, though we're focusing on the Northeast, you're welcome to share your views. We'd be grateful if you'd also circulate the poll among other funnies so that we have a wide and diversified sample.

I started to answer the survey but gave up because I use three ranges that are totally different.
1. A small indoor pistol range with 12 positions and max 15 yards
2. A local club (Rifle & Pistol) that is open to the public when club events are not scheduled.
3. A massive state operated range that covers any and everything including archery and airgun and even has camping space.

I'm not anywhere near there, but I can say I don't like the fact that the only ranges within a 2 hour drive of me that are capable of handling rifles also have a "1 round per second" rule that makes it kinda pointless to get an AR-15. So that would be a big consideration for me; let me shoot how I need to.

I got "invalid answer" to nearly everything including my state name and my zip code. I gave up after that. I'm pretty sure I know what state I'm in.

I glad my range is my property. I can shoot as fast as I want how I want and when I want
I would not pay money to be told I can't shoot this way or that way. Your not really getting and practice .If practicing for self defense.

The best range I've found is in Tampa Fl. Shooters World on Fletcher ave. it has video camera on your target at close range with a monitor at your shooting station. They also have a reactive steel target range. There's various ranges all under one roof for almost every type of shooting.
There's also a large museum of firearms, and a huge gun sales area. It's like an ikea for guns & shooters. This is there only location I know of.

Just wanted to jump in and let everyone know that the responses have been rolling in and thank those who have filled out the survey for their time. We are nearing completion and will close out the survey soon, so if you have been thinking of responding, please do so as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Filled it out. By the questions sounds like they're trying to do some strange family attraction with shooting on the side.

Got this when I finished it:
Could not instantiate mail function.

The form has been submitted successfully. Thank you!

My favorite qualities of my private range; no ridiculous rules (no full auto, no tanerite, etc), no range officers, we police ourselves and never had an issue.
And being in New England, we have several enclosed shooting buildings with wood stoves in them (firewood donated by members). Just my 2 cents.

The excellent private club twelve minutes away offers various options such as skeet, cowboy events etc, even a 200 and 600 yard rifle range.

But I seldom use the club because they

I won't bother with the survey and personal info, but I will tell you the two issues I have is no where to shoot long range (most ranges here are 100-200 yards max) and no where to practice drawing from a holster (which i'm sure is due to liability).
