I am shopping for a new CZ at LGStores. I want to find a source to establish a reasonable price for it.

I would rather not visit 10 stores to find the best or average price. If I can get an idea of what a reasonable price should be, I would just buy it at my closest LGS if the price was slightly higher, not massively marked up. Internet source?

Thoughts?

Look online, see the prices; call your local guys and ask them what their price is; then order from the best place.

Just post what your LGS is asking for them. Folks on this board know the market better than anyone else and will tell you if it's a fair deal

Check Buds, Kentucky gun company, gallery of guns, gunbroker. Should give you a pretty good idea of what they are selling for

You guys are the best. As Nature Boy suggests here is the info.
My LGS wants $650 for A CZ 75B. Having looked as you suggest that sounds OK. No?

I agree with 1KPerDay: you can find a CZ 75B online for around $550 (both Bud's Gun Shop and Grab-A-Gun have it for that price though they only come with 10 round magazines).

Damascus Gun Shop (damascusgunshop.com) has reasonable prices on CZs. For example, the 75b is $550 there.

If you want to establish a local relationship, you will almost certainly have to pay more. How much more? Well, full boat retail on the basic CZ 75b is $612 according to CZ-USA's website.

I would explain my desire to the gun shop, and would be honest that a relationship has to go both ways. Hopefully, they would want to establish a relationship with you also, and would give you a price where they can make a reasonable profit but also be below full retail.

Just a suggestion. Offer him $575, and tell him that's what it would cost you to get it on line + transfer fee (or there abouts). Also say, as @GoPappy suggested, that you're looking to establish a relationship with an LGS because this won't be the last gun you buy.

Based on a $565 price from Bud's that is not horrible for a brick and mortar. If the going rate for an FFL transfer in your area is $25 that brings the Buds price to $590. So about a 10% premium for buying as-seen and taking home today. The LGS has rent and employees to pay that are proportionally higher than Bud's. Chances are they will handle any warranty returns for free as well.

If your LGS can't make a profit for selling in-stock guns, he shuts down. Transfer fees won't pay enough for him to keep a store and inventory to handle. If they have a range, try to get him to chip in range time. If not, maybe some ammo. He would rather discount with store merchandise than money.

On the other hand, I didn't know CZ-75s went up so much since i bought mine in the 90's.

$600-ish is not horrible, but...

I have two very nice CZ75 "clones" made under license by Tanfoglio in Italy. They are Israeli surplus ("Cohai"). I got them for less than $400 OTD apiece and they are fabulous shooters.

My barely-used (with box and papers) 45acp target version (also Tanfolgio) was less than $500 OTD.

My 40 caliber and 45acp polymer Tanfoglios (also lightly used) were about $300 OTD.

My FiL shot my first Tanfoglio and immediately wanted one of his own. He paid about $600 for a new CZ75 OTD and wasn't disappointed (he shoots it better than any of his other service pistols), but he was disappointed by was that it was on the medium frame (unlike the 9mm Tanfoglios), and annoyed that its quality was no better than any of mine. Tanfoglio makes good guns. They are very durable. The newer ones are called "EAA Witness", and the older ones TA90. They are every bit as good as the CZ-produced version, but much less expensive. A lightly-used Tanfoglio is an excellent bargain.

I just bought an as-new CZ75b Omega at of all places CABELA'S gun library for $400. But I think that was a fluke. I agree that you have to consider FFL transfer cost, and some profit for your LGS. I wouldn't be averse to taking best online price and adding $50 for your gun store.

I gather that your CZ's are not 9mm.

Also not too sure about how to go about buying on line in this NE state. I need to check the laws and procedures.

I was looking for 9mm

My full-sized Tanfoglio CZ copies are as follows: 9mm steel, 9mm steel with adjustable sights, 40 caliber polymer, 45acp polymer, 45acp steel with adjustable sights.

Surplus ones are available on Gunbroker pretty much anytime. CDI Sales almost always has some. My most recent was the 9mm steel with adjustable sights. The box seems to say it has 75% finish (looks a little better to me) and was made in 1987. The price was $305. Shipping is usually about $25, and you usually pay about $25 to your local FFL as a transfer fee.

For those, (not necessarily the OP) who haven't purchased firearms online: I normally buy used ones from Gunbroker. My normal procedure is to first win the auction. :) I prefer to stick with sellers who've made 1,000+ sales. With some sellers you can pay with a credit card on the actual Gunbroker site. Sometimes you have to call the seller directly to give your CC information. Then I call my FFL, which is simply my local gun shop. They email their FFL information to the seller. The seller will normally ship the gun within a day or two. It usually takes about two days for it to get to the gun store. They call me when it arrives. I go there, they do the background check, I pay them $25, and the gun is mine.

Just saw a full size used 75 from 1996 with one mag no box, very clean go for 399 at a local shop. It didn't last long. My PO1 was 550 new a few years back.

Can you tell me the difference between the 75B and your PO1?

The P01 is a forged Alum Alloy frame compact with a rail. It is a true DA/SA gun with a decocker.

The 75B is a fullsized pistol with no rail. You can use the gun as a DA/SA but there is no decocker. You have to lower the hammer manually. You can also carry the 75B as a SA only gun because it has a thumb safety.

One thing I would point out about CZs. The Omega triggers do not sell as well as other CZs. The Omega trigger is a simplified design that allows you to change from a decocker to a thumb safety. The Omega does not allow for the same level of customization as the standard trigger. I personally see it as a solution in search of a problem.

As to pricing on a CZ 75B right now you can get one from DEGuns.net for $489 + $30 shipping. They will match Bud's "professional only price" https://www.deguns.net/CZ-75B-9mm-91102-806703911021-p/91102.htm

So for me I would be out the door at $489+$30 Shipping +$15 Transfer = $534 no tax + 1% cash back on my CC.
