I think definitely have a plan to shift priorities, but probably wait and see if anyone beyond the Usual Suspects introduce thier Usual Bills, and if those bills do anything besides gets squelched in committee.

I think in large part it will depend on what lessons the Dem leadership takes from the election (ie, will they notice that many of the seats they picked up were pro-gun candidates or at least folks who took pains to avoid the gun control issue) and whether they're smart enough to avoid giving the GOP & NRA something to pound them with in 2008.

For example, we all know Hillary is anti-gun. And we also know that she's very smart politically, and her husband/advisor is one of the most astute political maneuverers of his generation. Finally, we know that Hillary wants to be President. Put these together, and I think she will want very much to avoid having to vote on anything gun control related. So, how much pressure will be put on various Dem Senate committee chairs to make sure she doesn't have to?

Sure!

Now I intend to spend the money for magazines and ammunition and firearms on ballots. I intend to let every politician that will listen that my gun money belongs to them if they support the RKBA. If they demonstrate that they've used the money well they get my time to help put them in office.

In bygone days i used to keep only a couple boxes of ammo in whatever caliber/guage, but due to prices & politics lately, i have been keeping cases, not boxes. I will be keeping my eyes and ears open for any word of new controls or taxes on ammo, and will plan my future purchases accordingly. Besides, buying in quantity is easier on the wallet these days anyway.

Pray for me, I live in Massachusetts.

I'm cashing in some investments and buying ...stuff.

Local gun shops are speaking of a "buying frenzy". We're getting 'em while we can. If I get limited to one gun a month then I will buy one gun a month.

Every month. :D

+1.5

My old policy was "dollar match" ... i.e. for every buck I spent on guns, I'd donate a buck to pro-freedom groups (NRA, EPIC, ACLU, EFF, etc...) but between the patriot act renewal and the potentially increased threat to the RKBA, I think I'm changing that to 1:1.5 in the coming year. $10 on ammo? $15 to a civil rights group.....

A No Vote

I've got what I've always wanted so now I'm buying as much ammo for them as I can afford. Just like in October.

Yep, I already bought another AR lower and a bunch of 30 round mags, and now collecting reloading components in all the various cartridges I shoot.

Yep

My list has grown dramaticly!

2 more pistols Hi-Cap 9mm to go with all of my others (also plenty of hi-cap mags) also a 9MM carbine also a couple of cases of ammo

AR and several cases of ammo

another 12 ga and another Case of 12 ga buck

May end up with another couple of hunting rifles (30-06 or 308) and plenty of ammo!

Plenty of 243, 45 Long colt, and a sh@t load of .22 cal.

My wife will not be happy :uhoh: but if the SHTF it will be a good thing!

Post election changes in shopping habits here consist solely of ditching a few stocks in Fox and Clear Channel and spending the proceeds on Tofu and ordnance.

Absolutely -

Buy hi cap mags, ammunition and any semi you want right now. Expect a renewal of the "assault weapon" ban bill through the Senate and SIGNED into law by late summer.

Look for Schumer to push for increased taxes on DEALERS and ammunition.

For 2008-2009, the agenda is to make all private firearm sales or transfers illegal. Won't pass on the first round, but it will come back ( they will be emboldened by the assault weapon ban renewal). If no change in congress critters, this WILL BE LAW by 2011.

Buy cases of ammo, bulk powder and LOTS of primers. Mr Schumer is already making noises that primers are destructive devices. Who the heck keeps voting these idiots into power????

:banghead:

I'm seriously considering selling something to afford a .50 reciever.

Standard capacity mags.

Money for pro-freedom groups and politicians.

No-ban AR recievers as well (I have a post-ban AR now).

No more guns, but bullets, brass, powder, and primers. At the very best they are going to tax the hell out of anything regarding firearms.

I saw a billboard once, back in the 70's, placed by one of then then-popular extremist groups that simply said, "Buy Guns, Store Food". I thought it silly. Then, later, 1994 happened to us. I am now following the advice of that billboard. I am also bumping my NRA level up to the whatever comes after Endowment, where I now sit. I suggest you all do the same. America is about to become very unfriendly for us Americans....

MrTwigg, one little problem with buying things in MA... there's a registry. If they want to confiscate, they know what you have already.

A lot of "conservative" donks were elected. If they resist the liberal party leadership we probably don't have a lot to sweat 'till '08 - '09. That said, I think I'll go ahead and get the AR I want and maybe a 9mm carbine. Also an M1.
Then lots of ammo and some hi-cap mags.

I've gotta agree with Biker on this one. What alters my "shopping list" more than anything else are ATF decisions, like the one about importing "non-sporting" barrels.

An accurate semi in .308 has been on my list for years, I've just never had the spare $3k or so to invest. After digging out of debt, I finally have the funds. The current political climate has influenced my decision do buy one now, as opposed to buying one in a few more years.
I second those who donate to RKBA causes. However, for the next 2 years we have who we have, and they will do what they wish, barring massive external pressures.
There's alot of things that can be done with $3k, I just really didn't want to spend it on guns at this early stage, but I believe I will. Thanks for the votes and opinions.

I was discussing this with my liberal Constitutional Law professor, he brings up a good point. He agreed that the '94 AWB was indeed responsible for the Democrats losing control of Congress. He also agreed that a new AWB would seal their fate in the '08 election. He seemed certain that a new AWB will not come to light, he cited two reasons why. First, he rattled off a list of new democratic legislators he believes to be more moderate. He agreed with me that if the democratic party believes this election shows a complete turn in political opinion in America, they are wrong and it will be their demise. Second, he said they hav a hell of an agenda and a new AWB would be at the absolute bottom of their list. We need to do something with the budget, the war, health care, social security and the list goes on and on.

now, I'm very skeptical and I will believe it when I see it, but I'm at least hopeful that his opinions hold true. That being said, I'm not going crazy with the purchasing just yet.

Spare AR lowers,
register a few SBRs and/or AOWs,
get a few supressors
pick up whatever good ammo I find cheap.
keep eyes open for good private sale handgun deals.
spare mags are never a bad thing...
