With the G19, my thumb just gravitates right on top of the slide stop. This makes the slide fail to lock back every once in awhile. I already cut about half of it away, but I guess I have long thumbs.

I'm running out of metal to remove. But there's a lot more space in the slot in the frame. The slide stop could have been make wider, or farther forward. So does anyone know of a shorter aftermarket slide stop? Or if anyone has an extended and a regular slide stop to compare, does the folded over part of your slide stop extend farther forward then the stock part?

They look the same width to me. My advice contact a good Glock Armorer and tell them what your problem is and see what they suggest. You can not be the first person to experience this problem.

You could try Glockmeister. They might be able to fabricate a custom slide stop and send it to you. All you need then is a Glock Armorer to replace your existing and you will be in business.

Dave Sevigny shortens his, and I had the same problem and was able to get one from him a few years back; but to my knowledge neither he nor anyone else has ever marketed a shortened stop.
