Well, overall I have to say I am enthusiastic about this rifle's performance. It shot and grouped well at about 45 yards. I was able to consistantly keep baseball about 1 to 2 inch groups mag after mag with only a "slight" sight adjustment on the iron sights. From bench everything pretty much kept under 2 inches though I did not bust out a ruler. Let's just say that a deer at 50 yards WILL drop. I do plan on putting glass on this in the form of a red dot. I practiced quick tactical reloads in the following drill.

Target at about 30 yards. Fire 2 rounds, change mag, 2 rounds more, change mag and continue until both mags are empty. The last 3 rounds of one of the mags will click on an empty chamber, so you have to learn to tactical reload with simulated failure. Worked great. Reloading this thing is not a matter of finesse....just grab the mag with a fist and rock it in. I didn't even have to look at the rifle to do this....just stuff the thing in there.

No jams....no surprise.

No failures....no Sh!+.

This rifle is NOT a sniper MOA .308 with a bull barrel, but I'll bet I can knock down a steel target at 100 yards with consistancy. Now to get the .308 version.:D

Rating....more accurate than a Yugo SKS and a heck of a lot lighter.

Saigas are indeed very good rifles especially considering their cost.

Personally I prefer mine to the BM XM15E2S I've got. One of these days I'm gonna get me an AK-47 and an AK-74. I fully expect that after I do I will discover that my AR has less utility than I imagined and it will find it's sorry ass on the auction block.
