I'm pretty tired right now and I have to do a lesson plan for tomorrow, but here are a few pictures I took today. When you sign up for SHOT they tell you that photography is strictly forbidden and if they catch you they will delete your photos and kick you out immediately. However, it turns out that most exhibitors want you to take photos and dont mind at all if you do. Tomorrow I will take a lot more (and wear something less unflattering to my gut). For tonight... well... take a look for yourself.

My photo mission tomorrow:
FN SCAR
FN Heli-Cannon
HK 40mm thumper
Brinell 500-600 armored truck
SIG 22LR P226 conv

Our Ghost Ring handgun night sights were a hit, as were our FAL rifles. I specifically asked both a Canadian Armorer and a British Armorer who stopped by to look them over inside and out, and both were approving. Moreover, an elderly FN gentleman also wandered by - he remarked that IMBEL ought to have returned FN's machinery and stopped producing the FAL when their license expired, but that he was glad the FAL continues to live on in today's modern arsenal.

ps: can you spot Oleg Volk's work in the background?

1: M14 on TROY MSC with 40mm GL and 100RD Mag plus optics. Weighs ~18lbs with an unloaded magazine!

2: USGI Grenade Launcher. HE rounds only launcher.

4: Me, Briane. L to R - EAI PARA, EAI IM58C Carbine with EAI FF Handguards

Incidentally, our EAI booth bunnies are Rhiann Woodyard (brunette) and Breeauna Peltler(blonde). One is a Comm. major finishing her BA at Cal State (BP) and the other is finishing hers in Theatre (RW). Both are quite intelligent and personable. They also have an undeniable appeal that, sadly, I cannot compete with. If you are a firearms company looking for women who are familiar with firearms modeling, I have their professional contact information.

Man... At some point in my life I need to get to one of these shows... Looks like a lot of fun!

Though I'd probably get kicked out quickly for drooling all over the nice expensive guns... :p

It would be a tiny bit recompense for the many hours you put in to make this forum pleasant. Yes, I'll add that to my list of must shoot objects.

I bet $20 that the ladies don't wear that to the range. If I've had trouble with a normal button-down shirt... :uhoh:

A brass-catcher need not be necessarily installed on the weapon.

On a more topic-related note, what kind of optic is on that grenade launcher?

Please tell me about the $899 California special. I'd be interested in ordering. I need a new tow, share details please. or a link.

Who Makes it, Is is Civi Legal, Is the Ammo Available in the USA, And How Much?
Depends on if the state you live in allows civilians ownership of destructive devices. Which means same hoops & $$$ you need to jump through to own a Title 2 firearm.

20mm rifle = destructive device.

Anzio Iron Works makes the 20mm, it's civilian-legal with a DD stap and costs $10-20,000 depending on options.

Run over to Charles Daly's booth and snap a picture of Mike so we can see what he looks like. Also, snap some shots of his stuff so we can check it out.

*drool*

I love the 'sneaked in' photo of a full-size SIG 250. Looks semi-decent.

That bullpup bolt-action intrigues me. I had a similar idea rolling around in my head 2 years ago, but didn't think about the "swapping calibres" bit.

I think this SHOT show has been interesting from a "I'm viewing it from this end" perspective....and by "this end" I mean forever far away, while at college :(

As an ex-South African Infantry from the late 60's, those FAL pics also rekindled a lot of fond memories. Many bruised shoulder and cheekbone from the South African FN licensed R1 - I just loved my rifle!!!
