We had the Pre-state skeet competition going on at our club this weekend, and after the serious skeet targets are done the night games start up.
The first on the agenda was a game of wobble scrap that turned into follow the leader on where the next shooting position was going to be. There was some 70+ yard shots being taken which weeded out quite a few guys. I made it to the last four before I ran out of my 25 alotted shells. The guy who won the event had 4 or 5 shells left of his 25.
Second event was a wobble trap killer at the 29 yard line of the trap line up. I sheared off my front bradley white bead on the barrel of my old M12 and the pins that had the vent rib from moveing also sheared. The rib was slideing out about a quarter inch every shot I took. I ended up shooting off with 1 other man who finally picked up a target that I missed. The lost bead didn't bother me at all.
Third game was another wobble trap from the same yardage. I would take a shot and hammer the vent rib back down with a plastic hammer every shot. We went through almost two boxes of shells before I finally won the last event. I still came out in the hole money wise but I had lots of fun.
All in all a great evening with some of the guys I used to shoot registered skeet with. Lots of fun had by all. Sunday the small gauge events are shot and everyone leaves for home early to get ready for the state championships next weekend.
