Hi everyone, flexible here and I have to add 5/8 of an inch to the LOP on a Browning Citori Lightning in 28 gauge I just bought. I might do some more stock work later but the quick & simple increase in LOP would be a real help.
Any recommendations on which butt pad works best?
thanks

Slip-ons tend to move around; either go with a thick recoil pad or add a spacer. Are you abnormally long-armed? Most Brownings tend to fit folks between 5-10 to 6-3 fairly nicely.....

Limbsaver and Pachmyr are very good at what they do, Orvis has some with leather covering if you want something commensurate with your fine shotgun, and Butler's Creek is a cheapie.

I am 5-10 and 175, I had my Blaser F3 fitted last year and after measuring the Blaser and my forearm from the 90 bend at the elbow to the first joint in my trigger finger and then comparing to the new Browning it seems like I need about 5/8. I do have a Browning BT99 and Citori 725 in 20 gauge that fit me very well - I will measure them tomorrow.
thanks

I thought you all might find these numbers interesting, I took my shotguns out and had my tape measurer handy. The LOP is as follows:
#Blaser F3 - 14 3/4 heel, 14 5/8 ctr, 14 7/8 toe
# Brown BT 99 - 14 1/2
# Brown 725 - 15
# new Brown Citori Lightning - 14 /14
not a huge difference but measurable

I'm calling Browning today so I might just see if they have a pad that's 1/2 inch thicker
thanks

Plenty of aftermarket pad choices. Personally I like Pachmayr, but Kick-eez is also a great one and used by many makers as an OEM pad

I've had slip on but after some time they get sloppy and can go sideways when you put it to the shoulder. Personally I would used a complementary spacer.
