Shotshell primers-the same worldwide?

Is there a "Berdan vs Boxer"-type of issue with shotgun primers, or is there one standard for all of them.

As far as I know the '209' primer is standard in modern shotshells. I've not reloaded the odd european shells, but on this side of the pond the 209 is all you have.

There are some all brass shotgun shells, some of which use Berdan rifle primers.
