NO, don't trade it. One day you will regret it. Keep saving for the Taurus.
I miss every gun I've ever sold, even the turds.
Good Luck

Have you lost your mind???

Trade a Glock for a Taurus?

Say it aint so!

If you have the hots for a 1911, by all means get one. But, don't give up your Glock.

Just from a value standpoint, the Glock is going to go up. Glocks are made in the land of the Euro. Think what that is going to do to the value of a Glock in the current economy. You can get one of those single-stack eject-the-shell-case-into-your-eye 1911's any time.

That's all I have to say about that.

You might need to use the gun someday. Having it work is almost a gimme on the glock, it will probably be back at the factory for repairs if the taurus.

Yep, I'll agree with that, for the most part, without expressly offering an opinion as to whether the Glock is a turd. :)

But seriously, the higher-cap mags are worth something, I believe, and even though the Taurus is a better gun (far better IMO) which will put a broader smile on your face, don't sell or trade. Just wait and save. AFTER you get the Taurus, THEN you MAY want to sell the Glock & accessories.

WOW, lots of Taurus hate. Most of the posters probably have never even owned one. I had had several taurus handguns, both revolvers and auto's and they have all been excellent in terms of reliability, price and quality. Face it folks, Glock is an outdated design in terms of ergos and it needs a facelift to keep up with S&W and Springfield.

Apples and oranges:) Keep the Glock.

A higher end 1911, yes. Not a Taurus hater, just not as valuable a gun.

I also have a taurus, it is my carry gun but I bekieve a glock is a better gun even if I have never owned one.I have shot a few and they have a good rep.I would buy an Xd before a glock.I might even consider a 24/7 for the price but don;t sell a good gun to buy a taurus

I personally would not trade. You have too much tied up in the G-30 to let it go for what someone would give you in trade. Save for it. Two is better than one or the other.

:uhoh:

The 1911 hasn't really changed much in basic form or ergos over the last 100 years.

I have owned several. I owned a 44 special revolver that was fantastic.... I owned the 92 clone and it was horrible. I have owned a number of others. Some were good, some not....

Here is what the whole line had in common.... It is a crapshoot whether you get a good one or the lemon and there are far more lemons than I care for.

I like Glocks, I shoot them well and I like the way they look and function. I liked my Taurus Revo and a few others.... but I sold all my Tauri and still have the Glocks... Even sold the Revo that I liked.

I vote No on the trade.

As to Glocks being outdated.... some of us don't need racing stripes or windswept styling. We respect a workhorse and can deal with the lack of snazziness.

If it were me, I'd hang onto the Glock and save for the Taurus, though I might also consider some other 1911 manufacturers as well.

i'm keeping my glock i happen to come into 200.00 today so i am putting the taurus on lay away thinks for the input fellas

From a Glock owner AND a Taurus owner:

Don't trade. If you're comfortable with the Glock keep it, and as others have suggested, save for the 1911 type. From all I've heard of the Taurus 1911s they're a decent gun. My one Taurus (a 941) is a gem, there's a teacher up here with Millenium. She loves it, I've shot it twice. I'd have no qualms about carrying it.

Here's an idea: You'll be getting a economic stimulus refund in May, no? Hmm....
