Keep the Ruger.

It's a working gun. I wouldn't worry about re bluing it, even if funds were available. People used blued guns for a lot of years before stainless steel was even an option.

I wouldn't trade your Ruger for BOTH of his revolvers...

WesM : I thought we already decided this for you over on Rugerforum last month?

yes but recently he came over and kept trying to trade, he said he was going to a gun shop and get a ruger if i don't trade so i thought i would try different forums to check their answers. the answers were the same and even tho i decided to keep the gun it helps when you know you did the right thing when others agree with you. thanks

No worries! I came across this thread today, and it was driving me crazy because I thought I had read it before and responded, but couldn't see where. Then I saw the date this one was posted, and I thought, "Wait, I saw this thread a few weeks ago." I was thinking I had lost my own mind until I realized what had happened.

You should rest secure in the knowledge that EVERYBODY agrees on keeping your Ruger! :D

If it bothers you a lot I don't think a reblue on just the cylinder would be all that costly. Perhaps Ruger could do it for you so that both the polish and bluing would match the standard . (call their customer service)

I wouldn't do the trade either, and I could also live with the gun as is, and sleep well at night.
