One nice thing about the PX4 versus other Beretta DA/SA pistols is that the PX4 can more easily be found in the decock-only configuration for those who don't care for slide-mounted safeties.
It can also be converted fairly easily by the owner to the decock-only configuration if desired.
That gives you the option to decock, but the gun can't be put on safe either accidentally or on purpose--safety is the DA trigger and any passive safeties built into the gun.
Life is hard in the shadow of the model 92. When PX4 was introduced, I really did not like the styling. It looked like it should be featured in one of those gritty, futuristic movies like Blade Runner. Plus, Beretta basically transferred the 92 vertec grip to the PX4. It's great if you prefer the more vertical grip, but it's not good if you prefer the standard 92 grip angle.
