I love ARs with crazy color schemes. I pulled these pictures from websites and forums, and I didn't write down the source for each of these, so if one of these is yours I am sorry. But if you have a picture of a crazy looking AR, post it here! :D

The Mattel AR is a fake. Rumors have been around for a long time claiming that Mattel produced M16s under contact during the Vietnam War. The picture posted is a photo shop image. Also if you look closely you can see that the lower pictured is not a A1 type.

those are pretty crazy, i like the hello kitty onr that ia pretty sweet! the dewalt is hard to beat too! sorry but my ar is plain jane!

The lower is definitely an A1 lower. If you notice the area under the front pivot pin is almost a 90 degree angle, which is correct for A1 lowers. A2 lowers had a larger radius under the front pin to add reinforcent. The upper also appears to be a1. However, I do not doubt that this image is a photoshop on a Colt M16A1 receiver.

I bet if all of our guns looked like the first few pictures there we wouldn't even have gun laws.

Ok your right. After looking closer I see that the area around the buffer tube is lacking the later style reinforcement. What got me at first was that the selector is not drilled through the center as all the other A1s I have handled have been.

As with most rumors there is a grain of truth to it. I was in the Air Force, I got out in '92, the plastic handguards that we had on our old A1's were made by Mattel, they even had the Mattel logo molded into the plastic, on the inside... that's the only part that I know of that had anything to do with Mattel.

I usually prefer black military rifles, but that wooden AR is beautiful!
tactical rifles makes a nice ar/ falish looking rifle with the wood and i like it, i guess it is fifferent and that is as good as reason as any to like something!:)

The wood is great. Always wanted an M16 with wood A1- style forearm and stock. Might go for a wood pistol grip, too.

Another vote for the wood AR.
Never thought about it before, but it does make a beautiful rifle.
