I had a SS ProCarry II, but sold it after I got my Nighthawk Talon II bobtail.

Kimber bashers try to convince me the VERY BEST 1911 I have ever owned, is junky. I have had numerous Colt's, and others in my 30 years of 1911 shooting and reloading. The majority of them are gone, except this Kimber Custom Classic .45. I bought it new about 13 years ago. All the parts are original, sear, hammer, diconnector, trigger, slide stop, barrel bushing, etc. I had it hardchromed about 13 years ago and the slide Black "T"ed. I had a professional gunsmith cut the slide for a Kimber adjustable sight.

This pistol has fired thousands and thousands and thousands of rounds. It is glass smooth and 2 weeks ago I fired a 1.5" group at 25 yards off a sandbag rest. I protect my family with this pistol and would wade into a life or death fire fight with it.

Re-check your calendar, Kimber made their first 1911 13 years ago. They were first marketed in 1996.

If it is rollmarked Yonkers, then it wasn't made before April, 1997.

Kruzr,

I need to contact Kimber to find out the year this one was made. It was one of the first Kimber 1911's (not a Clackamas). I am going off memory. You're probably correct. Thanx for the history lesson:rolleyes:

As above, my photo is borrowed from Kimber's website, but nevertheless:

My Tactical Ultra II shoots phenomenally well. Someone even took the time to break it in for me. How can you beat that for a mere $750?

Darn no pictures to post but I currently have a Desert Warrior, a Tactical Custom II, a SIS Custom, a SIS Pro, a SIS Ultra, A Eclipse II in 10mm, and a Rimfire Target.
My SIS's are my primary carry guns. Nice to be able to switch sizes when needed based on wardrobe.
