Show & tell: your M39 Mosin scopes and mounts

I have an "unfired" M39 B barrel from Pat Burns.

I'm finally getting the itch to put it in use and I'm thinking of mounting optics via a "no gunsmith" style mount that pins in place of the rear sight.

I know there's a few options out there, some recommended and some not, so please show and tell what you have and educate me.

Same thing with the long eye relief and/ or pistol/scout scopes to match.

I have an unissued B barrel I bought about 8 years ago. I installed a Darrell scout mount and a Burris pisol scope. The rifle will shoot less than one inch groups with Privi 150 gr sp. I am not sure Darrell is still selling his mounts but maybe a google search will come up with something......chris3
 
Darrell is still in business but he hasn't put out a new batch of M39 mounts yet. He said he's going to send me an email when it is produced, but I'm not sure what his ETA is. This is a sideline for him.

One thing is for sure--THIS time I'm not parting with it once I have it.

I googled "darrell scope mount". He doesn't seem to have a website, although I found an email address.


Any posts with a pic or two would be greatly appreciated. (pic of mount installed on an M39)
 
Glad to hear Darrell is still in business. I need a scout mount for my K31......and his latest version of the 91/30 mount. Mine is the first model.....chris3
 
I want to stay away from the mounts that hang unsupported over the bolt area, like the jmerk style.

I don't wish to bend the bolt and I've had poor experiences in the past with all the "unsupported" weight on the back end of those style mounts.
