Anybody have an accurate load for this combo?

I tried 25.6 grains and shot average of 1.75" at 100 yards out of a 20" AR.

The Sierra manual doesn't list Varget data for this bullet, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sierra GameKing Bullets 22 Caliber (224 Diameter) 65 Grain Spitzer Boat Tail

Just use Hodgdon data for the 68 gr. 26 gr is listed as a compressed load, so maybe try less powder?

I load them with 24.5 grains of Varget for my SPS Tactical 20" barrel. I easily get <1" at 100 yds with that load. Velocity is just over 2730 fps.

26.0 gr. Varget, Rem 7 1/2 Benchrest primer, Rem case, Length = 0.065" on RCBS Precision Mic. for a COAL of 2.275"

Load appears slightly compressed.

2757 fps ave.

Best group so far is 0.42" @ 100 yds with a single pesky flier that technically made it a 0.625" group. :cuss:

Oh yea, used an Olympic Arms K16.

I just loaded and shot H322.23 Gr, my COL. Is 2.260..my first try at it with the 65Gr.Now this is out of my bolt rifle, and I shot less then 1/2 Groups at 100 yards. For me, I see no reason to do any more looking.

Just to be sure, you are asking about the Sierra 65gr SBT GameKing bullet, right?

I have shot that bullet in a bolt action rifle and I charged 26.0gr Varget with good success. I prefer the Sierra 63gr bullet #1370. I use the same charge of Varget with that bullet.

I will start at 24.5 grains. If it works, then great. If need be, I'll then try 26 grains. Hopefully it's not just my crappy shooting!

They were out of that bullet when I ordered last time. I've been working on loads for the 55gr and it has been OK...but I want to try the 65 gr as well.

Thats the fun of reloading!

with a remmy sps tactical sierra #1395 65grn gk with 25 grn of varget did .351" wanted to test some more but at the same time out of same rifle using

sierra #1370 63 grn semi pt. with 26 grns of varget got .280"
both on bags at 100 yds. which was fine for my needs at that point so went back to playing with different cal 308 i was more interested in.... all the best, enjoy dirt

I tried 24.5 grains of Varget and my groups opened more than 25.6. After I ran out of test ammo I grab my scope and it moved.... loose mounts.

I just need to learn how to make the little red thing banging its head....

:banghead: I thought I was going to out shoot Bubba, my Father in law. Bubba only sights in and shoots deer. He had a stock Ruger M77 .270 and I had a built Savage 110 with a target barrel. Needless to say a loose mount turned my rifle into a 2+ inch gun and "Bubba" was nailing the ten ring.
