I thought I would throw together a quick look at the magazines I use in my Sig 1911 Carry Nightmare.

I got the rebate with the bag and two more magazines, so I now have four total of the Sig stock magazines. I hate the way they look though!

So plan A was to replace the oversize bumpers with some low-profile ones. That was a FAIL. It seems the magazine body is longer, not just the bumper.

The solution (Plan B) for me was to just buy one Chip McCormick eight round standard bumperless magazine for carry, and use the Sigs as spares.

In order, Sig with the standard Sig bumper, Sig with a Chip McCormick low profile bumper, Wilson Combat, and the McCormick eight round no bumper magazine.

If were to carry a 1911, I'd always carry with a flat bottom bumperless mag in the gun. No need to increase the grip length. I'd want magazines with the bump pads for reloading.

Nice looking Sig, BTW.

I can understand the desire for flat bottomed mags, but truly just don't notice the extra length in real-life carry.

I will add that my Sig mags (I only have the 2 that came with my Nightmare Carry) seem quite nice.
